Emily V Fischer
Portrait of Emily V Fischer
I am a graduate student in the Atmospheric Sciences department at the University of Washington, and I study the movement of air pollution around the globe. I am acutely aware of the impacts of climate change, and I care deeply about this issue.  I recently relocated to Seattle to do my Ph.D.  Prior to moving to Seattle, I lived in northern and southern New Hampshire.  After finishing my Masters degree at UNH, I worked  as a staff scientist at the Mount Washington Observatory.  While in NH I  also worked with Clean Air-Cool Planet and the Carbon Coalition to make climate change an important topic in the 2004 NH Presidential primary.  For the last year, I have been consumed with my studies and my inner activist has been in hibernation.  As the next presidential race heats up, it is time for me to get back into advocacy mode!
