I am passionate about working in community (non-profits, local governments) on sustainability and climate change issues and believe that healthy, sustainable communities are the basis of a sustainable world. I am grounded in whole systems thinking, which takes into account the complex inter-connections of ecological and social systems, and focuses on things in terms of their connection, context, and relationships to the whole.
I am a firm believer in The Natural Step as a strategic framework to strategically guide communities towards sustainability ( studied this is Sweden under founder, Dr. Karl Henrik Robert). I envision businesses, local governments, and community organizations coming together under a common sustainability framework and think community study circles are key to ignite widespread community change.
I've developed environmental policies and programs; coordinated community study circles; written grants; facilitated stakeholder involvement processes; planned and implemented social marketing campaigns.
