My first introduction to 'the environment' was back in 1992 - an event in conjunction with the Rio de Janiero Earth Summit, where we were given a talk at school about the effects that mankind had on the planet and asked to make a pledge. Since this point on I have always been careful not to waste energy, water, anything really.
Although not intentionally so, my career with a construction company led me to be promoted to environmental manager which meant I was involved with influencing the design of new buildings to make them greener as well as working within the company to change their practices fr the good of the earth whilst being a profit making contracting organisation.
In 2007 I made a fresh start and launched Corporation Green Ltd - an environmental consultancy aimed at serving the construction industry. My works sees me involved with a wide range of people from builders, architects, engineers, suppliers, clients, other consultants, etc all of which I aim to help make the right decisions with regard to the choices the make in building design and management.
I have a HNC in Building Studies, a degree in Construction Management, a Diploma in Environmental Management accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA), of which I am an Associate member as well as being on IEMA’s Midlands Regional Steering Group. I am also a full member of the CIOB, the Chartered Institute of Building. I am a qualified BREEAM and EcoHomes assessor with plenty of experience with Management Systems, ISO 9001 quality management, ISO 14001 environmental management, and auditing thereof. I also deliver training on sustainability and help companies to understand the legal requirements and prepare submissions for prequalifications and tenders.
I work from home in Leicestershire, UK and live with my fiance, Kevin Gallagher and dog, Bleu. For more details about me or Corporation Green go to www.corporationgreen.co.uk
