As a recently retired schoolteacher, I am  in an ideal position to take action on climate change/sustainability issues, which has become my passion. I am especially interested in meeting up with other retired teachers who might be interested in forming a 'cadre' of volunteers in the public schools - that can help form 'Environmental Stewardship Committees' at every site and do the necessary 'footwork' in creating awareness about sustainability - researching 'what's out there currently' in environmental education - - in short, being a major force in 'greening' our schools.  See my Blog for a fuller description of this 'vision'.  In addition, I am very interested in participating in and facilitating the Climate Dialogues, once the Climate Briefing is completed. I hope, at least, to help 'activate' my northeast neighborhood, (View Ridge), and plan to make presentations in the fall, using the Briefing, and perhaps some other materials, as a catalyst.
