Since 1998, I have served as Core Faculty at Antioch University Seattle, within the Environment & Community Program.
I am a social worker, an avid permaculture and ecological design educator, a Returned Peace Corps volunteer (Jamaica, 1991-93), and passionate sustainability, food security, renewable energy advocate (presently harvesting 520 watts of home-grown PV solar energy) among many other themes / pursuits.
In 2004, I founded and now work with my talented team at Pacific Bamboo Resources on projects involving regional and international partners focusing on innovations for emerging bamboo economies that advance carbon ethics, climate recovery, eco-restoration, and improved quality of life. Visit our website for information about PBR and our Sustainability Internships.
I am also Program Vice President of the Board for the Northwest Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SERNW). BTW, SERNW is pleased to announce the 2009 SERNW Regional Conference. The theme for the interdisciplinary conference, to occur from May 19-21, 2009 at the Lynnwood Convention Center and expected to attract approx. 500 people from around our region, is Creating Thriving Rural and Urban Communities through Ecological Restoration.
