All,
There's lots of redundant actions on here, and I wanted to find a way to cull the extras out. For instance, we probably don't need both
"Compact Flourescents"
and
"switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs"
I started updating one page before I realized that there were two.
How can we delete one page and transfer people's actions to the single remaining action? There should be a way to do this, so that the size of the action (on the actions page, reflecting the number of people with that cause) properly reflects its importance.
I believe we'll have many others like this, too.

same is true for:
turning down the thermostat
"buy nothing new" vs. "trying to buy nothing new"
And the same is probably not true for stuff like:
"buy carbon offsets" vs. "buy clean electric power"

Yes, I've been watching these echos pile up too ... like Bring my own shopping bag, and Bring your own shopping bag! It would be nice to have a way to combine them, ... now that I'm thinking about it, I don't really have time at the moment to add this as a "feature" to the user interface (it gets a little complicated), but I could easily go in and do it manually. Just a little housekeeping from time to time ...
Good suggestion!
And yes, buy carbon offsets and buy clean electric power are quite different.... though there can be overlap.

Awesome, thanks for the clarification.
Maybe there can be a tab near each action (by the "I'll do this") or off in some corner that says "Suggest for overlap" and when you click it it brings up a list of all the actions (minus the current one) and you can put checkmarks in there. That way you can go in manually (for the time being, or another admin) and quickly see which ones are overlap, rather than wasting time searching each time.
