Has anyone here gotten any guff from stores for bringing your own bags?  Do they have to be see-through?  I ask, because I know a lot of stores suspect shoplifting when people bring big bags in with them.

Please let me know, if anyone has any input on this.

Thanks!

The key is to keep them empty until you check out! :)

I've never gotten hassled, but it would be interesting to get this kind of attention ... it gives you the chance to raise some awareness.

I allways bring my bag to shoping centers, supermarkets. I leave it in storage case and when I buy everything and pay cash, I get my bag and put everything to it. There are storage cases in every shop in our country, so you can leave your bag there and go shoping. Isn't so in all the world or I just haven't understand the question? :)
I guess in Lithuania you have storage cases because people are used to bringing bags ... but here in the U.S. there are NO storage cases. Most people just expect the store to give them a paper or plastic bag.
I've had no trouble so far.  I've been bringing a drawstring bag I can fold up and carry in my basket till I get to checkout.  It's working well so far, but only for small grocery runs.  Guess I need to get more than 1 bag now... :^)
My family can't really bring their own bags we buy like two whole shopping carts full of groceries and need to use the plastic bags sadly. but when we do shop for things individually I will ask if we can Bring Our Own Bag. ;)
My household owns about 9 of those canvas bags. We stuff them all into one and just bring the bag of bags along on grocery runs ...
