There is an article among many on the culturechange.org site that in my opinion captures best and most concisely the magnitude of the impending crisis, with all its ramifications. I would love to start a discussion on this. (With the understanding that the last thing we need is more hot air, in every sense, but that the only purpose of discussing is to take action - now).

First off, sorry about the link problems -- I haven't had time to post a Help page on wiki links, but will soon. Here's a proper link to the article. I have to say I don't have much interest in this kind of article. It is heartfelt, no doubt, but I have no patience for people who say it's too late, time to hunker down, and spend their time railing against the powers that be.
The fact is: no one knows how much time we really have. As Wally Broecker -- one of the world's most respected climate scientists -- says, the system is far more complex than we realized. What we have to do is save our energy for smart, strategic action that can really make a difference. That's what this site is about.
cheers,
Phil
