We're working to build an overwhelming public mandate for real solutions to the
climate crisis. Here's how you can help:
Two-person challenge
- If you do nothing else, get two other people
involved. With enough people, we can move the world.
Public dialogue
- Most people don't yet realize the urgency of global warming. Get involved
in efforts such Focus the Nation and help people get it.
Vote this issue
- It's time to raise a fuss about climate disruption. Let
incumbents and candidates know that their jobs are on the line. Make the 2008 elections the Climate Elections.
Climate action ballot initiative
- Pledge your support for the climate action ballot
initiative. We intend to have it on the 2008 ballot in every state
where initiatives are possible.
While we need policy solutions, we also need to minimize
our personal impacts now. Most important are the high-impact items,
especially those choices which, once made, will be with us for a long time.
Buy clean electric power
- Electric power generation is the single largest source of global warming
emissions. Most people don't know they can choose clean energy right now.
Buy or build green
- Our buildings, through materials and energy use, are responsible for
nearly half of all greenhouse gas emissions. If you are buying, building, or
renovating, demand that the Architecture 2030 challenge
be met. It will save you money, too!
Drive a greener car and Drive less
- Nearly a third of our global warming emissions is from cars and trucks. We
must drive less, use and improve public transportation, and buy vehicles that
are efficient.
